Joining the dots.

Tailor-made support for writers

All stories begin in the unconscious. When we sit down to write, we are bringing the pieces of a story into consciousness, and joining them together to create a complete picture.

But most writing courses do not teach us how to access the full power of our unconscious mind. This is why the writing process can feel so strained. We have only ever learned how to write a story using the conscious mind; the analytical, ‘left-brain’ tools that turn writing into an uphill struggle.

Joining the dots is designed with a ‘right-brain’, holistic focus. Through 1:1 sessions that are tailor-made to fit your needs, you will find the joy in writing again, and deepen your awareness of your authentic self.

Joining the dots is a new way to approach writing.

  • Somatic wisdom

You will learn how to unlock the wisdom of the body.

  • Finding flow

By summoning the power of the unconscious mind, the ‘flow state’ will come effortlessly.

  • Self-reflection

Reflecting on trauma and life events will provide raw material for your work.

  • Inner space

You will discover how to create space for ideas to come, naturally.

FAQs

  • If you are interested in taking the course, you will need to sign up for a free 1:1 consultation with me using the form below. I will be in touch to arrange a time slot.

  • During the consultation we will discuss what you hope to get from the course, how much it costs, and if we are a good fit to work together.

  • The thing that sets this course apart from other writing courses is that you get to decide what we cover – but I can appreciate that some clients may need more guidance, so I do offer some more structured options for specific genres/formats (e.g. novel writing, creative nonfiction, memoir). We can discuss this during the consultation.

  • No – the course can be taken from anywhere in the world, and will be delivered through weekly 1:1 Zoom sessions and email correspondence. All you need is a stable internet connection and a quiet room. Please be aware, however, that I am based in the UK so all time slots offered on my calendar are GMT.

  • There are limited spaces available for each course block, so it may be that the course is already full when you enquire – in which case, you will be put on a waiting list. It is vital that you have the time and energy to fully commit to the course and that we are a good fit to work together – all of which will be determined during the consultation.

  • Most writing courses are built around analytical, outcome-based, ‘left-brain’ processes. These courses may teach you how to structure a plot and build a cast of characters, or how to quickly churn out 50,000 words, but they do not bring you any closer to understanding who you are, why you write, or how to enjoy the process.

‘Right-brain’ functioning is typically associated with feminine traits, such as intuition, somatic wisdom, emotional intelligence and creativity. Joining the dots is designed to draw on the power of the divine feminine – which is present inside every human being – to help you understand storytelling on a deeper level.

  • Many of the ‘dots’ that form the unique constellation (or story) of our life are unconscious. Through self-work and self-inquiry we seek to uncover these ‘dots’, making them conscious, and integrating them into the larger pattern. This is what we will aim to do by working together; uncovering the dots and joining them together until we have a more complete picture of you, and the story you are compelled to tell.

  • My role is to help you identify any blockages or limiting beliefs that are obstructing your writing process, and provide you with the tools that are needed to connect you to your true ‘self’ – tools that I have spent the last ten years developing. The measure of success is different for every client, but it is largely dependent on the work you are willing to put in. I am dedicated to supporting you through this process from start to finish.

  • During the course we will use a number of healing practices and I will encourage self-reflection; however, this is not therapy, and I am not a trained therapist. If you are dealing with unresolved trauma, PTSD/C-PTSD or serious mental health issues, please consult a professional.
